The Egyptian Minister of Aviation, Mohamed Manar, announced the resumption of air traffic at all airports starting from July 1, explaining that the return of air traffic will be gradual with a number of countries.
The minister added in a press conference on Sunday that the crisis management committee resulting from the Corona pandemic, found it necessary to announce the precautionary controls and procedures.
He said that this important step for the aviation sector is accompanied by sterilization of all airports and airplanes, and the provision of dry meals and canned drinks only, in addition to prohibiting the distribution of publications and folders on the plane.
The controls for operating activities in Egyptian airports include the commitment of passengers to sign a declaration at the departure airport, and it is only necessary for travelers arriving from countries in which the health organization declares that the outbreak of the virus reaches the epidemic level to submit the result of the PCR test.
Return of tourism activity
For his part, the Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, announced the resumption of tourism coming to three governorates, namely South Sinai and the Red Sea, and Matrouh, starting from the beginning of July, stressing that the arrival of tourists is not only an Egyptian decision.
Al-Anani explained the regulations of hotel establishments, the head of which was not to open any hotel except after obtaining a license from the Ministry of Tourism and Health, stressing that all decisions will be taken regarding any violation in hotels.
The Egyptian government provided a set of incentives in the context of restoring travel and tourism activities, as follows
Cancellation of tourist visas for foreigners coming to tourist governorates until October 31, 2020.
Extending the current flight stimulus program until October 29, 2020.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation granted aviation companies 50% discounts on landing and boarding fees.
A 20% reduction in the fees for ground services provided for direct flight to the tourist governorates airports in each of the governorates of the Red Sea, South Sinai and Matrouh, for direct flight until October 31, 2020.
20% discounts on tickets for all museums and archeological sites of the Supreme Council of Antiquities
Discounts on visit permits for tourists arriving from abroad on Egypt Air and Air Cairo Airlines, provided that the discount period of validity is 15 days
