Minister of Tourism: We will not allow hotels to operate in Cairo and Giza at this time

Dr. Khaled Al-Anani, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, confirmed that tourists will not be allowed to travel to Cairo and Giza, but they will move between the three tourist governorates “the Red Sea, South Sinai and Matrouh” – which will be opened as a first stage in the framework of the return of domestic tourism – to prevent the transmission of the infection with the new Corona virus. Al-Anani added, during the press conference held at the headquarters of the Ministry of State for Information Affairs: “We are not in a hurry, and what matters to us is: the safety of the people, the safety of the guest, and that we maintain our reputation as a tourist market worldwide.” And he added: “Exempting the tourists from the visa fees is a procedure to encourage them to visit us, and we will not allow the Cairo and Giza hotels to operate at the present time.”
